We will pick you up from your accommodation in the center of Cusco between 4:30 and 5:00 am.
We’ll travel by car for about two hours to the south, until we reach the district of Cusipata – Paucarpata (3,310 meters above sea level). Upon arrival, we’ll enjoy a buffet breakfast, then we’ll travel for another hour to reach the control point and begin the hike.
The hike will last approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Along the way, we’ll observe typical Andean flora and fauna, including llamas and alpacas, pass through beautiful valleys, and see snow-capped peaks.
Upon reaching the viewpoint of Vinicunca or Rainbow Mountain (5080 meters above sea level), our guide will give us an explanation about the geography, ecosystem, and color of the mountain. We’ll also have the opportunity to observe the Vinicunca mountain range (5020 m / 16,466 feet) and take memorable photos while admiring the beautiful landscape. Then, we’ll return along the same path to the starting point of the hike, where our transportation will be waiting to take us back to Cusipata for a buffet lunch.
After lunch, we’ll begin the return journey to the city of Cusco, where we will arrive approximately between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. This concludes the tour to Rainbow Mountain.
